Before going to a show at The Orpheum Theater we wanted a bite to eat. We thought this place looked good and walked in right before happy hour ended. Lucky us! Bartender Alex was great. Good margaritas and good food. We got the Hh empanadas, guacamole, and elote. My friends also got the calamari and said it was very good. Loved the friendly ambiance. We sat at the bar downstairs but I will go back and check out their outdoor dining area as well. Food and drinks arrived quickly.

Lovely find on yelp. Upper level has open air. Great cocktails and bar menu. Food was flavorful and colorful. The service was outstanding. Music wasn't too loud and you can't hear the road - great ambiance. As you can tell I LOVE mole - this mole gives the last restaurant a run for the money, better than the best of the last mole review! Best Mole in LA! (How's that !)

Stopped by for an early dinner and loved the vibe and friendly customer service. We arrived shortly after the dinner opening time on a Sunday, and we were greeted and seated promptly. The place was not busy at this time, so we received undivided attention from our server and had a nice relaxed dinner. The decor is simple and clean, there are plenty of windows for light. Even though this is located in the center of the busy intersection, you don't notice the cars passing by. There's even a small patio at the tip of the intersection, pet friendly, as well as what seems like another patio rooftop. The whole feeling inside was like a very relaxed one, like a little European corner coffee shop. For food, we ordered the chicharon as an appetizer. This was delicious! A mix drink with guava and a sugar rim was pretty good, and we had to order another. The main dishes were fish with rice and the steak with shrimp, chicken, scallops, and basmati rice. Both were tasty. The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the rice was creamy, which was a nice balance. The steak with shrimp, etc, was not my favorite dish. These were cut into small bite-sized pieces, which made it a bit dry. Will definitely be adding this to my favorites list. It seems like they don't yet have a steady menu. They're using the menu covers from the parent restaurant. I am curious to return and see what changes in the menu. P.s. our server mentioned that the Saturdays get busy, so much that they didn't have a few menu and drink items that we were curious to try. I will definitely return to check out the vibe on that day too.

This is what I like to call a little hole in the wall. Small but I like the uniqueness of the building itself. Dim interior perfect for a date night. Drinks- 5/5. Hol-eee chet. Can I say that? The drinks are really well done here! If you like mezcal, this is hands down a place with great mezcal drinks. The diablito drink was amazing. The Margarito was also great tasting. Food- They start with complimentary salsa (beans, mild salsa was okay, salsa macha-great) Carnitas were hands down 5/5. Nice and crispy on the outside, meaty and tender. Rice was slightly on the salty side but the beans tasted perfect. The escabeche- Wow! Putting my Mexican family to shame y'all! Fresh, I can taste the oregano. Best escabeche I've had hands down! Service- I forgot our servers name but they work as a team here and everyone was really attentive making sure our water was filled when needed and made sure we were doing well. Give this place a try!

This hidden venue, was discovered when looking on Yelp for local steakhouses. Made reservations, for a special occasion, and I'm glad I did. Palanco's is a Mexican Steakhouse, located inside the Ayers Hotel. We were greeted by a friendly host, and promptly seated. The restaurant's atmosphere consists of warm lights, beautiful decor, and romance. Our server was friendly and polite. We had an idea of what we wanted thanks to the online menu. As a starter, our server brought us some full size tortilla with a choice of three different kinds of salsas. The salsas varied from mild to HOT! Loved it! The presentation of the food, was eye popping and mouthwateringly beautiful. I was extremely impressed. The food came on a wooden steak board. The board was loaded with steak, grilled onions, seasoned grilled cabbage, bean and salsa verde purées. On the side, deliciously seasoned roasted fingerling potatoes. Fabulous! The juicy mouth watering steak was great on its own, but add the potatoes with the cabbage...you are immediately transformed to steak lovers heaven. Glad I took a pictures first :)
